Nikaah (lit. marriage contract) is a 1982 Indian Hindi-language romantic drama film produced and directed by B. R. Chopra. The film stars Raj Babbar, Deepak Parashar and Salma Agha in her Bollywood movie debut role. The film also had Asrani and Iftekhar in supporting roles. The film's music was composed by Ravi and was a huge hit. The original name of the movie was Talaq Talaq Talaq, but was renamed Nikaah on the insistence of Islamic clerics.[citation needed] The film won Filmfare Award for Best Dialogue and Filmfare Award for Best Female Playback Singer in 1983. It was the sixth highest grossing Bollywood film of 1982.

You have not truly seen male Nahin Face until you have seen the last half of this movie, trust me. And actually I should point out that the doctor (Nana Palsikar) could have handled it far less dysfunctionally than he did as well: he basically told Gopal that everything was fine and let Gopal find out for himself that one of his feet had been amputated.

If this movie, and similar movies became successful, it was not because of the histrionics of Rajendra Kumar and co, rather it is the music that carried the day for such movies. If one removes the songs from this movie, I bet that there will be few takers for this movie.

One of the best things about old Hindi movies is that very often without actually intending to be funny, they come up with pretty comical situations and scenes. Very earnestly intended, everybody looks serious in the scene. Only the viewer is ROFL. That is part of their charm!
